Microsoft has trumped PS4 to the race of launching of HBO app with the release of the HBO Go app on its flagship XBOX ONE although the app for PS4 is being developed and would soon be released. The new XBOX ONE app has a brand new feature that allows users pin a specific show to the home screen allowing easy picking up right from where a viewer last stopped. The Windows 10 Technical Preview adds all sorts of cool new features designed to appeal to PC power users, but it also includes some nifty newcomers that you can’t actually see—fresh keyboard shortcuts!

• Snapping window: Windows key + Left or Right — LeBlanc says: "(Can be used with UP or DOWN to get into quadrants.)" Quadrants is the new Snap view mode that pins apps to the four quarters of the screen.
• Switch to recent window: Alt + Tab – LeBlanc says: "Hold shows new Task View window view, let go and switches to app."
• Task view: Windows + Tab – LeBlanc says: "New Task view opens up and stays open."
• Create new virtual desktop: Windows key + Ctrl + D
• Close current virtual desktop: Windows key + Ctrl + F4

GNOME 3.14, the latest version of GNOME 3, has been released. Announcing the new version, Matthias Clasen said: “This is another exciting release for GNOME, and brings many new features and improvements.”
The new release is the result of six months’ work by the GNOME project, and includes 28,859 changes by 871 contributors. Highlights for 3.14 include:

• New animations in the Activities Overview, along with new window animations.
• Automatic handling for Wi-Fi hotspots that require you to login (so called “captive portals”).
